May 3, 2012, 1:00 PM EST Type and Emotional Intelligence
Robert McAlpine, M.A. (ISTJ)

Type without emotional intelligence is like a day without sun. What is emotional intelligence and how do you use it?

What you will learn:

  • To understand the emotional energy framework
  • To manage the mental functions
  • To identify the mental function being engaged to create self-awareness

More Information

This workshop will provide a step by step approach for improving how you handle yourself as you increase your emotional awareness.

Jung described psychological type as an energy framework for acquiring information and evaluating the information that is being or has been acquired that determines and limits a person's judgment.  But Jung never provided a direct way to understand the energies and use that understanding to manage one's behavior.  Beebe's function-archetype model filled that void by identifying the kinds of emotional energies associated with each location in Jung's framework.

"I have the pleasure of teaching type to my adult learners. I teach in a Business Management program at a community college. My students range from 17 - 77! Regardless of the generation, "the lights come on" when these students learn about type theory and how to apply it to their personal and professional lives. "
